2 or 3 on the road

For travellers who want to slow down. Each lodge along the Transpantaneira sits in a different mix of forest, open field and wetland, and it is remarkable how much the wildlife changes from one to the next. Choose four days with two lodges, or five days with three, and an extra early outing for tapirs and giant anteaters.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Into the Pantanal

One of our guides picks you up at Cuiabá airport or your hotel. We drive 100 km to Poconé, where the Transpantaneira begins, and stop along the road whenever there is wildlife to see. Depending on your arrival time, lunch is in Poconé or at the first lodge. In the afternoon, a boat trip on the river. Dinner, then a night safari by spotlight.

  2. Day 2

    Sunrise, forest and horseback

A one-hour walk at sunrise, when the Pantanal is at its loudest. After breakfast, a walk in the forest for howler monkeys, capuchins, marmosets and many birds, and with luck a mammal on the path. We move to the second lodge in time for lunch. Horseback ride in the afternoon, and a night safari after dinner.

    Watchtower and trails

An early walk before breakfast. After breakfast, we drive about 3 km across the lodge's land to a watchtower and walk the trail around it. Lunch and a siesta, then a boat trip in the afternoon.
